TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
AMDA, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, is seeking a Technology Support Specialist for its New York City campus. This individual will support all desktop applications, including hardware, peripherals and network connectivity, telecommunications systems etc...). Additionally, this Technology Support Specialist will support: Power Campus, Powerfaids, Great Plains, and IQ Web from a technology perspective, including all trouble-shooting and inter-system connectivity.
Responsibilities:
• Set up / troubleshoot workstations and peripherals.
• Maintain user’s network permissions.
• Support laptops, PDA’s and smart phones for mobile / remote employees.
• Support Windows XP/Vista, Office 2003/2007
• Network and connectivity troubleshooting skills, including deployment of software upgrades.
• Maintain, manage and monitor backup system.
• Monitor spam filters.
• Administer antivirus and spyware applications.
• Support Power Campus, Powerfaids, Great Plains, and IQ Web.
• Monitor performance of all supported systems.
• Develop / maintain user manuals, including security policy and procedures.
• Assist Management with systems planning and design.
• Support / set up / configure Cisco VOIP based phone system.
• End user Training as needed.
• Prepare weekly report of key activities / issues.
• Be the first point of contact for end-users technical issues.
• Escalate and help with technical issues management.
• Document and maintain the institution’s IT inventory.
Education / Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 5 years desktop / network support experience, preferably in a college setting.
• Experience with: XP/Vista, Office, Adobe, FileMaker, SQL, PCs, PCs peripherals, Cisco VOIP, LAN and WI FI
• Knowledgeable in MAC and MAC OS Servers
• Experience with website design and maintenance
• Experience working with outside vendors
• Experience with Powerfaids, Power Campus, Great Plains and FRX.
• Microsoft current certifications, CCENT certified, and other CompTIA current certifications
• Willing to learn new technologies
Compensation mid to high $30’s.
